[season1-13] 까이유로 마트에 장보러 갈때 쓸만한 영어표현 알아봐요.

안녕하세요.

저는 코로나 때문에 대형마트에 직접 가서 장을 본게 일년도 넘은 것 같아요.

급하게 살 일이 있을 땐 집앞 슈퍼에서 가끔씩 사기도 하지만, 왠만한건 앱으로 배달시키는 것 같네요.

 

이번 에피소드는 마트에 장보러 간 까이유에 관한 것이에요.

내용이 다른 에피소드보다 긴 편이니, 두번에 나눠서 보셔도 될 것 같아요.

 

Caillou Goes Shopping(S01 E14)

Dad : Caillou. Time to get up. It's snowing outside. Look.

Caillou : Yay! I want to make a snowman.

D : Let's get you dressed first. Now, where are your sweaters?

C : But I want to wear these.

D : If you wear your shorts outside you'll feel as cold as a snowman.

C : There's no more cereal.

Mom : We'll get some when we go shopping. And we need some eggs. too because I'm making a special surprise cake.

C : A special surprise cake.

 

Caillou and Rosie always liked Mommy's special surprise cakes, but they never knew exactly what the surprise would be.

 

M : Caillou, it's time to go to the store. Put on your coat and boots.

C : But Mommy, I want to play with my dinosaur.

M : You can play with him later. Now come on. We're waiting for you.

 

Caillou liked to go shopping, but he always took a long time to get ready because he liked playing, too.

 

M : Caillou, get in the car, please.

C : Are we going to make a snowman?

M : Well... yes... As a matter of fact we are...

C : Yay! A Snowman.

M : But right now we have to get going.

C : Mommy, I want to ride like Rosie.

M : Okay, but let's get going, or there won't be time to make that snowman.

C : I want these.

M : Caillou... We're having a special surprise cake, remember? So we don't need cookies, too. OK?

C : What is the special surprise cake?

M : If I tell you, I'll spoil the surprise. Now, when we get to the checkout, I want you to look after Rosie, while I take care of the groceries.

All Caillou could think about was those cookies. But he forgot exactly where he'd seen them...

...before he knew it, he was all alone, lost, and feeling afraid.

 

C : Mommy. Mommy. Where are you? Mommy.

M : Caillou. What happened?

C : You went away.

M : No, Caillou, you did. But I'm very glad we found you. Let's go home.

 

Caillou was still feeling upset, but he was very happy to see his Mommy and Rosie again.

 

C : I didn't like it when I was lost, Mommy.

M : I didn't like it either, sweetie. So let's make sure you don't get lost again. Now, let's finish making the special surprise cake.

C : But I wanted to make a snowman...

M : We are going to make a snowman. Only we're going to make him right here in the kitchen.

C : The special surprise cake.

 

Caillou and Rosie were absolutely right. They had guessed what Mommy's surprise was going to be.

 

C : Mommy, look. He's really a snowman.

M : Then he must be cold. Let's give him a scarf.

작년에 미국에 있을때도 코로나때문에 마트에 거의 안가고 배달을 시켰는데요,

미국에서 배달을 시키면 마트 자체 배달비도 있고, 배달해주시는 분들에게 팁도 드려야 해요.

마트 배달비는 10불 정도 했던 것 같고, 배달팁은 전체 금액의 10~15%였던 것 같아요. 

배달팁은 선택이라고 하지만 코로나가 심할때 장을 봐주시는게 감사해서 매번 꼬박꼬박 드렸어요.

120불 정도 장을 보면, 총 비용이 150불 정도 나왔던 것 같아요.

• If I tell you, I'll spoil the surprise. 내가 가르쳐주면, 비밀을 말하는 거잖아.
• Now, when we get to the checkout, I want you to look after Rosie, while I take care of the groceries. 이제 계산해야 하는데 엄마가 장본 것 들을 올려놓을 동안 로지 좀 봐주렴.
• I didn't like it when I was lost, Mommy. 길을 잃어버려서 놀랐어요.
• let's make sure you don't get lost again. 다시는 길을 잃어버리지 말아라.

눈이 많이 오는 날, 까이유와 엄마가 눈사람 케익을 만들었어요.

까이유 엄마가 정말 센스있네요.

저희집 아이도 요리하는 걸 좋아하는데, 케익은 못만들더라도 눈사람 쿠키는 한번 만들어봐야겠어요.
