안녕하세요.

오늘은 서커스에 가고 싶은 까이유가 나오네요.

그런데 서커스는 내일이어서 오늘 못 간다고 하니 까이유가 떼를 쓰고 있어요.

이럴 때 아이에게 영어로 어떻게 말하면 좋을까요?

 

아이를 가진 부모님들이 까이유 만화로 영어공부를 하면 좋은 게,

아이를 키우면서 쓸만한 표현이 많이 나온다는 거죠.

Caillou : Gilbert, I dreamed about a tiger. Daddy's taking me to the circus today. He promised. I'm getting dressed all by myself. Daddy will be so happy.Oh no. I forgot to brush my teeth. Look. I got dressed all by myself.

Dad : Uh, I can see that. And you did a very good job. But it's so early.

C : I don't want to be late for the circus.

D : The circus? Oh no, Caillou. That's not today. The circus isn't till tomorrow.

C : No. No, it's today.I got all dressed. It's today.

D : Come on, Caillou. Come downstairs and help me make breakfast.

C : No. No. I don't want to. Silly old car. Silly-silly-silly.

 

Caillou was in a very bad mood because he wasn't going to the circus.

 

D : Caillou, stop all this racket. You woke up Rosie. I want you to come downstairs right now.

 

Even Caillou's Daddy was starting to get angry.

 

Caillou Joins the Circus (S01E08)

 

C : Why can't I go to the circus? I want to go to the circus.

D : Let's make toast. We can cut it into little duckies, like Grandma does.

C : No. I don't wanna make duckies. That's for babies.

D : Well then... how about a circus breakfast? We can cut circus animals out of toast, to have with our boiled eggs. But wait a minute. We're missing something. Something that comes before the circus animals. Now what could that be?

C : A parade. A circus parade.

D : Of course. That's it.

C : I can get the eggs.

D : If you wanted scrambled eggs, you should have said so.

C : It's not my fault.

D : I know, Caillou. It wasn't anybody's fault. It was an accident.

C : Daddy. The toast. You can be in the circus, Daddy. You're a good juggler.

D : And Rosie can be the clown.

Mom : What's going on here?

C : We're having a circus. Do you want to be in our parade, Mommy?

D : Ooh, are you going to be the lady who rides the horse?

M : I don't think so, sweetheart. I think I'll be the lady who marches back to bed.

저희 아이도 떼쓰는 날이 점점 많아지고 있는데 떼쓰기 능력치가 매해 경신되는 것 같은 느낌이에요.

이젠 좀 컸다고 어떨 때는 논리적으로 떼쓰기를 하기도 해요ㅋㅋㅋ

Racket은 우리가 평소에 잘 쓰는 단어예요. 테니스 라켓, 배드민턴 라켓 등을 칭할 때 쓰는 그 라켓입니다. 

그런데 다른 뜻으로는 시끄러운 소리, 소음을 말해요.

그러니 'Stop racket!'이라고 말하면 '땡깡 그만 부려라', '그만 떼써라!'라는 의미가 됩니다.

외울 필요도 없어서 아이가 떼를 쓸 때 자주 쓸 것 같네요.
