까이유 대본으로 일상생활 영어공부 쉽게 하기

안녕하세요.
아이와 까이유로 영어 공부하는 2일차 입니다.

오늘의 에피소드는 까이유가 아빠, 할아버지와 함께 전구를 장식한 후에 세라의 크리스마스 공연을 보러 가는 내용이에요. 어떤 표현이 있는지 한번 볼까요?

Caillou : Sera's Chrishtmas plays today. Can we go mommy, please?
Mom: I don't see why not.
Dad : what time does it start?
C : Grandma said at 3 o'clock.
D : Fine. But there's something really important to do first.
C : what?
D : The Christmas lights outside. So you'd better get dressed and come and help me. Grandpa's coming over to help, too.

Caillou couldn't wait to help daddy and grandpa with the lights. He felt like a very big boy.

Grandpa : Hello. Here's your extra pair of hands.
D : Right on time.
G : Are you ready to set up some lights, Caillou?
C : We need lots and lots of lights.

Meanwhile Rosie was busy too.
She was making sure her presents were ready for Christmas.

Rosie : No, Gilbert. Present apply!

C : There!
G : Good job, Caillou. It looks great that about does it.
D : Good job, you too. Caillou, we have to get going Sera's play starts soon and we don't want to be late.

But when Caillou and his family arrived at the school there was no one else in the audience.

M : I think we're early.
D : It's exactly 3:00.
M : Not accorsing to the school clock. It says 2:00.
C : Maybe you should ask set friend new watch.
Teacher : All right everydody. Let's begin the rehearsal.

약 2분 정도의 표현임에도 내용이 꽤 많죠?

- you'd better get dressed and come and help me.
옷 갈아입고 나와서 도와주렴.
- Here's your extra pair of hands.
직역하면 '남는 손 여기 있어요'라는 뜻이니깐 도와줄께요. 정도로 해석하면 되겠네요.
- I think we're early.
우리가 일찍 도착한 것 같은데.
- Not accorsing to the school clock.
학교 시계랑 시간이 맞지 않은데.
(아빠의 시계가 고장나서 한시간 빨리 도착했죠. 그래서 엄마가 아빠에게 당신 시계는 3시인데 학교에 걸려있는 시계는 2시를 가리킨다고 얘기하는 내용이었어요.)

저도 요즘엔 까이유 만화로 아이와 영어 공부를 하는데요,
자신과 비슷한 또래가 나오는 만화여서 그런지
다른 컨텐츠보다 아이의 집중도가 더 높은 것 같아요.

그리고 까이유가 좋은 점은 실생활에서 있을법한 현실적이고도 다양한 에피소드가 등장한다는 거죠.

시기가 시기인만큼 영어 홈스쿨링에 고민많은 부모님들이 계실것 같은데, 만화로 아이와 즐겁게 영어공부 하시기 바래요.
